
This is to certify that PROFESSOR DR. NARENDRA KUMAR CHOPRA was employed in Faculty of Medicine, SEGI University as Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine from 4th
January 2016 till present date. In his recent position, he has responsibility for the Internal Medicine teaching year 3 & year 5 students of MBBS programme at Clinical Campus NQ1 Flats, Faculty of Medicine SEGI University Hospital Sibu, Sibu 96000 (Sarawak State).
Professor Dr. Narendra Kumar Chopra M.D Internal Medicine from M.S University Baroda, India in 1986, subsequently completed Fellowship in "Tropical Medicine" from Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene in London in 1989.He was awarded WHO Fellowship in Leprosy, infectious diseases in countries of South East Asia& Africa. He has received young scientist Melville Christian Memorial Award and Gold medal in 1995 & Rastriya Gaurav award by Vice President of India in 2002 for contribution in the field of Infectious diseases. He was also selected in the team by W.H.O for action program for elimination of leprosy in 2003. He has published more than 45 research papers in peer reviewed journals. Presently he is working as Clinical Professor and I.D Consultant in the Faculty of Medicine SEGI University, Clinical Campus, and Hospital Sibu Malaysia.
Apart from the usual lectures, practical classes and tutorials, he is Course Coordinator for Internal Medicine year 5 medical students & has developed teaching modules (such as Problem Based Learning, Student Centered Collaborative Learning&& Case Based Learning) based on current teaching methodologies in medical education.
Professor Dr. Narendra Kumar Chopra is an active researcher, and during this period has published various articles in peer reviewed international journals. He has been supervisor for various student led research projects during the last four years, most of which have been published in peer reviewed journals. He has also attended various research and medical education workshops and International Conferences on Infectious Diseases at Orlando U.S.A, London U.K & Rome Italy during his tenure.
He was Keynote Speaker on "Study of HIV in 400 cases of STDs & oral presentation research paper on "Study of cardiac involvement in 200 Dengue fever cases" and was Moderator on second day of 8th Edition International conference on Infectious Diseases held at London (UK) on 7th & 8th June2018. He is also in "Editorial Board of International Journal of Microbiology & Infectious Diseases and also Editorial Board Adviser in Journal of Human Virology & Retro virology (JHRV).I He was invited as a Keynote Speaker on " Past Present & Future status of HIV & AIDS global pandemic in the world." in the "8th EuroSciCon Conference on Infectious Diseases and S.T.D- AIDS" at Rome Italy on 22,23 April 2019. The above research paper is published as reviewed article in the International Journal of Microbiology & research aptitude, variable authorship and good team/ interpersonal/ leadership skills. He bears good character and conduct.
